Double Bearings
Overview
As compared to earlier designs only one bearing is installed which results in optimum alignment. There are two gliding surfaces inside the bearing, the space in between is used as an additional lubricant reservoir.
Advantages
- Press fitted on the bigger outer diameter, the inner diameter tolerance does not change
- Double bearings have the best bore alignment design
- High percentage of oil content → high lifetime
- Only one bush needed to fix one shaft
Applications
Due to limited installation space this bearing is often used in PC fan motors.
